Academics

School of Promise is a community of students, parents, and teachers growing together. We truly have a staff that is on the same page as parents— training students to discover their unique giftings and establish their growth upon the firm, timeless, and empowering foundation of Christian truth in both thought and service.

We believe that every student is equipped with unique, God-given gifts and abilities. Properly nurtured and developed, these natural talents will help each student become a successful, contributing member of his or her community. Therefore we seek to provide as high quality courses as possible to help students discover and develop their gifts.

At The School of Promise, we teach 5 R’s: Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic… plus Right vs. Wrong. We believe character education precedes academic education in importance; as the Scriptures say: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom.” The goal of education is not merely to make children smart in terms of accumulating knowledge, but to make them wise, so that as they grow up, they will learn to put their new knowledge to good and useful purposes.

All teachers are certified by the Ministry of Education, and work hard to achieve high academic goals for our school. Our goal is to help each child develop to his or her full potential in academic skills, social skills, physical abilities, and spiritual gifts. The principals have adopted policies to ensure that class sizes are kept small so that children are ensured ample individual attention from teachers. And where extra help is needed, teachers are aided by fully certified Educational Assistants. As with character education, a key feature of our academic success is the partnerships we seek to foster between parents and our professional educators.

Bilingual Education

At the School of Promise, every student participates in the Bilingual Program. All elementary students spend 9 class periods per week with their Foreign English teachers.  Classes taught in English include Technology, Art, Physical Education, and Music.  Our Foreign Teachers are highly qualified.

Technological Education

The School of Promise is one of the first Thai National schools in Chiang Mai to use Chromebook computers.  We have a 1:1 program for all secondary students, so that each student has her or his own Chromebook to use all-day, everyday. Even elementary students from grades 2 through 6 use Chromebooks two or more periods every week.

The School of Promise integrates use of technology into the learning experience, so that students will grow into professionals who are comfortable using technology in the real world.  As a result, our students will have a competitive edge in the workplace of tomorrow.
